Today's surf looks a lot bigger than yesterday's waves, and I wouldn't go swimming if I were you.
I went to the same spot today - the 8th Avenue Jetty in Asbury Park - and was in awe of some of the Hurricane Cristobal's swells.
'Life-threatening' rip currents at the Shore
Surfers estimated the waves were 6- to 8-feet high and seemed to be having a fine time. But Asbury Park lifeguard Jessie Robertson told me that no one should be in the water without fins, a board or supervision.
So if you're going to a beach this afternoon, be very careful near the water.
